'A Leaf From The Moon' or 'Chiếc Lá Từ Mặt Trăng' is a BFA Thesis film that shot on location in Hanoi Vietnam April 2025. I worked as Co-Writer and English Editor on this project. My Co-Writer was our film's Director Dieu Vy.
This story is an adaptation of the Vietnamese creation story, using new characters and modern language in the unspecified past. It follows a young spirit, Yen, who meets a 15 year old human, Sami, who agree to help each other find their mothers. Through their friendship Yen learns to express herself and her individuality, while Sami learns that she can be respected and loved as the person she is. This story is written to be family friendly, focussing on childish characters and comedic scenarios to accompany its dramatic story.
